Associate IT Security Consultant, Application Validation

Coalfire Systems is looking for a motivated entry level IT security professional to conduct technical testing for payment and health care applications. This opportunity provides access to the rapidly emerging market for IT Governance, Risk and Compliance (IT GRC) management. The primary focus for IT application validation assessments will be to validate technical controls for compliance with the following industry or government regulations: DEA EPCS, HIPAA, and the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Payment Application - Data Security Standard (PA-DSS). In this position, you will be supporting one of the most senior IT auditors in our industry. He/She will provide the education, mentoring and leadership to jump start your career in one of the most demanding career paths in the IT industry. As an Associate IT consultant, you will be a key member of the application validation team that works with various application vendors to advise them about data protection strategies, secure application coding, and overall application compliance and security.

Bachelor of Science in an IT related field (security a plus)
0 – 3 years in IT Security, IT Operations, or IT Audit
Good understanding of system and network administration
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent customer service and project management skills
Strong interest in obtaining CISSP and/or CISA certification
Self-starter, motivated to learn and become an IT Security professional
