The Department of Surgery at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a full time Associate or Professor of Surgery for the position of Chief of the Division of Cardiac Surgery. Under the direction of the Department Chairman, Robert S.D. Higgins, MD, the successful candidate will lead an academic division with comprehensive clinical programs including adult cardiac and valve surgery, percutaneous valve, heart and lung transplant, mechanical circulatory support and aortic disease management. The division has an accredited thoracic residency program which will require program directorship in addition to potential development of other innovative educational training paradigms including integrated 6-year and general surgery/thoracic surgery programs. The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing and expanding academic and research programs in clinical and laboratory research as well as outcomes research.
