The TRICARE customer service Referral Representative is the primary customer service support representative for TRICARE beneficiaries in the TRICARE Service Center (TSC). This associate provides general program information, on-site benefit counseling, access to care support, claims and enrollment support services to walk-in customers in the TSC. The representative provides appropriate program education as part of each beneficiary interaction. The representative typically reports to a TSC Manager or TSC Supervisor, depending on the size of the site.
Provide onsite customer service support to TSC walk-in customers with enrollment, benefits, access to care and claims issues.
Keeps up-to-date on Military Treatment Facility (MTF) priorities and initiatives and TRICARE Program changes to enable accurate and timely information sharing.
Delivers personalized information and assists with coordination in complex enrollment, access and claims problems.
Performs other TSC Customer service support functions and administrative duties (such as data entry of referrals) as assigned.
May perform job duties from various locations within the market area.
May travel with short notice, for a short term stay of one to four weeks to perform duties at an alternate work location.

High School Diploma/GED
1+ year of experience in medical office, insurance industry, or HMO Claims experience
6+ months of data entry experience
United States Citizenship
Ability to obtain favorable adjudication following submission of Department of Defense form SF86 NAC form SF86 .
Military experience is a plus
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Frequent speaking, listening using a headset, sitting, use of hands/fingers across keyboard or mouse, handling other objects, long periods working at a computer
Service center environment with moderate noise level due to Representatives talking, computers, printers, and floor activity
As a requirement of UnitedHealth Groupâ€™s contract with the Department of Defense, this position requires U.S. citizenship and proof of favorable adjudication following submission of Department of Defense form SF86 http://www.opm.gov/forms/pdf_fill/sf86.pdf , (the National Agency Check or â€œNACâ€). Successful completion of the NAC process is a requirement for continued employment in this role. NAC processing will be initiated by our TRICARE Security Officer post-offer, and can take 3-6 months for a final decision communication from the Department of Defense. Candidates will be allowed to begin employment with UnitedHealth Group in this role based on an interim clearance, and final results will be communicated as they are received. Failure to obtain final NAC approval will result in termination from this role.
