Inside Sale Representative
(ISR) located in Houston, TX. The roles and responsibilities associated with the ISR are designed to maintain and strengthen the customer relationships managed by Cargill Metals outside sales reps. Responsibilities include:
Act as an advocate for our customers and collaborate with other departments to ensure the customer receives the correct product, on time and at the correct cost.
Support business management directives and decisions.
Coordinate sales among the sales team, customers and extended teams as appropriate.
Maintain excellent internal and external customer relationships.
40% - Customer Support - Support customer accounts by establishing relationships, clarifying needs, managing the process with customers to accurately forecast needs, effectively work with clients in problem/resolution situations, and following up on customer claims and new product inquiries.
30% - Order Management- Entering and expedite orders from the field, verify pricing, assuring accuracy of orders and monitoring deliveries.
15% - Sales Management Support - Develop strategies for territory accounts. Call customers proactively to investigate new opportunities and solicit orders
15% - Administrative Tasks - Keep accurate customer/territory records such as forecasts, customer profiles, customer specs, purchase orders, and maintain a daily log of selling activities, price quotes and conversations with customers.
High School Diploma
Previous background in sales, sales support or customer service in manufacturing/industrial environment
Strong communication skills-both written and verbal, interpersonal and leadership skills
Willing to travel 5% of time for customer visits and/or training
Self-motivated, analytical and problem solving skills
Demonstrated ability to think and act independently, take initiative when appropriate
Ability to be a team player
Efficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Ability to adapt to new computer programs/systems
Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities with sense of urgency and problem solve appropriately
Ability to adapt and respond quickly to environmental changes - including responsibilities shift
Previous experience in the steel industry, preferable flat-rolled steel in the Southwest
