The individual will be responsible for providing support on hardware, software and network-related problems, questions, and use; provide problem resolution with users, by walking the user through diagnostic steps; open, track and close trouble tickets; ensure problem ownership and promote end-user satisfaction. The qualified candidate must have a wide range of skills and knowledge in computer hardware and software as well as experience in the set-up, configuration, use and troubleshooting of computers.
The Help Desk Technician will support tailored applications as well as Windows and MS Office products, document all trouble calls and requests for help. The candidate must provide timely responses to user's questions and concerns; fix errors, creating alternative methods of completing a task, correcting user errors, and correcting system inconsistencies; provide detailed and accurate logs of all user contact; help other Help Desk Analysts in troubleshooting issues; document standard procedures for Help Desk; identify and escalate issues that are unable to be resolved by the Help Desk Analysts; provide assistance to other IT departments when requested and provide documented procedures and configuration.
Degree Requirements: BS with 2-7 years of experience.
One of the following certifications is required: A+, Security+, or Network+, as well as some form of Microsoft training is required.
Relevant Experience (amount and type): Recent experience repairing, building, imaging, and troubleshooting desktop and laptop computers in a high energy environment required.
Applicants selected will be subject to a Department of Defense security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
