McGrann Paper Corp . , a leader in the pulp and paper industry, is seeking a Traffic Manager for their new plant in Liverpool, NY to manage and coordinate transportation for the delivery of customer orders .

As a Traffic Manager with McGrann Paper Corp, you will contribute to the success of the company in the following ways:

  • Determine cost effective freight solutions and service levels for all customers and products
  • Manifest and bill out customer orders
  • Issue picking orders to warehouse
  • Coordinate transportation of customer’s orders
  • Schedule in and release rail cars, maintaining a log on received/released rail cars
  • Verify rail car changes and demurrage bills
  • Prepare customs documents
  • Mainta in shipping and receiving board
  • Coordinate incoming trucks, verifying valid purchase orders for warehouses , maintaining a schedule of incoming loads
  • Coordinate shipping/delivery dates with the Converting and Warehouse Managers
  • Monitor, and record time, loads carried, and work performed on trucks going to and from the rail yard
  • Process out shipped orders to close out unfulfilled demand
  • Update computerized freight rates and insurance information on all carriers used
  • Meet with freight compan ies to find the best rate s and best service
  • Work effectively in a team environment with both office and warehouse employees
  • Assist in other departments as needed (Inventory, Warehouse, Converting)

  • College degree preferred, or relevant experience
  • At least 3-5 years experience in logistics and/or shipping
  • Familiarity with the paper industry preferred (not required)
  • Good communication and organization skills ; ability to multi-task and work in fast-paced environment
  • Strong ability on a computer and at least basic use of Excel
