Must be able to obtain a Top Secret-SCI clearance.
DUTIES:
Performs the most complex Security Assistant assignments associated with supporting established security programs.
Reviews numerous incoming materials and investigative reports to identify any deliberate misrepresentations of facts, criminal or immoral conduct, mentally disabling illness, sympathetic association with hostile intelligence individuals/organizations, or any facts which may imply reason to believe an individual may be a possible security risk.
Prepares communications concerning the results of background investigations and forwards same to Specialist for review.
Serves as the liaison between the agency and representatives of other agencies for the purpose of obtaining and/or clarifying information.
Provides assistance to Security Specialist in re-investigations of employees. Assist the Security Specialist in administering briefings to employees who have been granted clearance.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Resolving a wide variety of security situations, often sensitive in nature, especially concerning individuals that do not meet requirements for access.
Implementing existing security procedures for access as set forth within the well established unit policy.
At times, solving problems or address situations which are not covered by established policy and procedure.

Policy has been implemented wherein support employees entering a position through a competitive OR non-competitive action may be precluded from moving to another position within the Bureau by means of reassignment or change to a lower grade for a minimum of 12 months.
