The Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for clients and visitors of the Baltimore Resettlement Center. The Receptionist ensures that the lobby runs smoothly in order to support the clients, visitors, and staff members of the Baltimore Resettlement Center.
Welcome visitors, ensure timely service to clients, and assist to answer clients’ questions.
Answer and direct incoming calls.
Assist clients with their photocopying needs when appropriate.
Keep a book for logging of visitors and clients to the BRC.
Maintain the lobby and the children’s corner, tidying periodically during the day.
Keep updated appointment calendars for case management staff and LSS/NCA partners.
Update the lobby and hallway bulletin boards.
Ensure that only pre-approved materials are advertised in the lobby and keep stock of staff business cards.
Receive and distribute mail and incoming faxes.
Process outgoing mail and packages (FedEx) and maintain the postage machine.
Assist BRC staff with special projects as needed.
This position reports to: Administrative Manager.
High School Diploma
Demonstrated experience with diverse communities and cultures.
Excellent communication skills and fluency in English. Bilingual ability in Amharic, Arabic, Burmese, Chin, French, Nepali, Tigrinya, a plus.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Experience in clerical duties strongly desired.
Valid Driver’s License.
