Under the general direction of the Executive Director of Architects and Engineers, the Inspection and Quality Assurance Manager, in consultation with the Senior Project Managers, develops, implements and manages cost-effective plans of inspection and quality assurance that conform to the most current approved contract specifications and plans for assigned projects.
Minimum Requirements
Education and Experience: Minimum current ICC certifications in construction inspection for Electrical Inspector, Plumbing Inspector, Mechanical Inspector, Building Inspector and Combination Inspector, and seven (7) years of experience in building or utility project or Inspection management, including three (3) years of experience overseeing inspection on major construction work; and/or direct experience with DSA and or OSHPD agency governed projects.
Working knowledge of construction administration and construction means, methods and techniques; schedules, contracts, change orders, cost estimating, bidding and design build processes, dispute resolution and claims analysis; safety and hazardous waste management equipment, regulations, procedures, and strategies; and SWPPP requirements and inspections and environmental planning, landscape architecture, engineering, and/or construction management.
Demonstrated skill and experience effectively managing inspection and quality assurance documentation, supervising inspection and quality assurance staff; and working with executive management to adopt changes and better align processes with operating objectives.
Ability to work in a diverse and fast paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines; plan and organize a team effort; and consistently use original and creative thinking skills to analyze a wide range of policy ramifications, situational problems, and to offer a range of options for resolution.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering.
Knowledge of UCR standards and federal, state and local codes as they pertain to design and construction.
Professional License in Architecture and/or Engineering with minimum 5 years license experience.
Professional Construction Certification Inspections by DSA, OSHPD and ICC Certification Combination Plans Examiner.
