Summary of Essential Job Duties:
Under the nursing leadership of the Imaging Service Line Manager and Nurse Practitioner Coordinator, the Lead Imaging Clinical Coordinator is responsible for integrating the clinical care needs and requirements of Taper PACU, procedural, anesthesia and other special needs patients into their imaging exam throughout the patient’s imaging visit in order to provide quality, individualized patient care and in support of Medical Center philosophies. The Lead Imaging Clinical Coordinator functions as a leader and an expert professional practitioner, and assumes responsibility and accountability for the expert application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care. The Lead Imaging Clinical Coordinator consistently demonstrates professional skills and abilities, utilizing his/her knowledge base and exemplary leadership and educational skills to direct and supervise the clinical performance of others. The Lead Imaging Clinical Coordinator demonstrates motivation and creativity, and serves as a catalyst for effective change within Imaging and the institution. The Lead Imaging Clinical Coordinator ensures Imaging nursing employees perform within their scope of responsibility and duties, and ensures accountability at the facility, department and position levels, including knowledge of required clinical/technical skills consistent with the Nurse Practice Act, Title 22, and The Joint Commission, The Plan for Provision of Nursing Care, The Plan for Provision of Care to Patients, and other regulatory requirements. The Lead Imaging Clinical Coordinator ensures compliance with National Patient Safety Goals. In conjunction with the Service Line Manager, the Lead Imaging Clinical Coordinator assists with all processes applicable to assigned unit(s), including human resources, budgeting, staffing, quality improvement planning and educational development programs. The Lead Imaging Clinical Coordinator supervises and assumes responsibility for promoting maximum growth and development of each employee he/she supervises, supports research, participates in both long and short strategic planning, and assures patient advocacy.
The Lead Imaging Clinical Coordinator actively participates in the Imaging Governance Council, and through influence and collaboration with the imaging leadership team, effects positive change and improvements in patient care, safety and work-flow processes.
Educational requirements and/or preferences (Licensure, Registration, Certification, Experience, Other):
•Bachelors of Science in Nursing required.
•Valid State of California Registered Nurse License required.
•BCLS credential required. Must obtain ACLS and PALS within 6 months of employment, if not already certified.
•Certification required in accordance with organizational requirements.
•Demonstrated leadership ability.
•Minimum of 5 years relevant clinical experience for population served.
•Demonstrates excellent organizational skills and excellent judgment and application of critical thinking skills in all aspects of leadership and supervision.
•Working knowledge of Nursing Practice Act, The Joint Commission and other state and local regulatory requirements.
•Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills.
•Demonstrates commitment to customer service and an ability to meet the needs and expectations of patients and health care colleagues.
•Full command (verbal and written) of the English language.
•Proven ability to work independently, establish relationships, and manage multiple tasks with minimal directions.
•Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative information for decision support.
•High level of proficiency using Microsoft Windows and other Microsoft Office software.
•Must be able to manage competing priorities, while being extremely adaptable and flexible, and maintaining a positive work environment.
•3 years prior supervisory experience strongly preferred.
