Role Summary

The Senior Consultant functions as the client’s access to all the capabilities, expertise and thought leadership that Russell can bring to our consulting relationships.

This role can be located in New York, Chicago or San Francisco.

The responsibilities of the individual in this position include:

Relationship Management
  • Responsible for the revenue and profitability of consulting services delivered to consulting clients
  • Coordinate delivery of capabilities to clients
  • Maintain and assure quality and client satisfaction for all capabilities delivered to clients
Consulting
  • Provide advice on strategic policy and structural issues for investment programs
  • Consult with clients on implementation of strategies
  • Work with internal investment experts on manager structure for all asset classes
  • Develop appropriate review processes to monitor program results
  • Access and participate with other consulting and research capabilities required by clients
Business Development
  • Participate in soliciting and closing consulting relationships, and other Russell business prospects
  • Contribute to Russell’s industry presence through selected speaking engagements and conference participation
Practice Development
  • Contribute to the development of new or improved capabilities at Russell in response to client and market demands
  • Provide leadership in the delivery of new consulting insights to clients
  • Communicate and share ideas and technology to consulting team
  • Participate in educational programs and activities (e.g., practice groups) to enhance credentials of consulting group
Team Participation
  • Participate in the success of the client service teams including the development of other members of the team
  • Work to assure constructive interaction with other divisions of Russell as well as support functions
The successful candidate will have extensive demonstrable skills and experiences including the following:
  • Masters in Business, CFA, or actuarial certification required
  • 10+ years of finance/investment industry experience, ideally at a competitive organization or in the plan sponsor role
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Investment industry knowledge
  • Strong quantitative skills
  • Ability to prioritize/time management
  • Excellent judgment; ability to use resources effectively
  • Knowledge of Russell’s entire product line
