Northrop Grumman Information Systems is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to join our team of talented and diverse individuals. This position will belocated in Annapolis Junction, MD.
The Sr. Software Engineer designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.
Current TS/SCI with Polygraph required.
Minimum of 13 years in software development/engineering (9 years with a bachelor's degree), including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution. Ability to communicate directions and provide guidance to junior programmer/analysts, as required.
Experience planning, accomplishing goals, complicated tasks, and providing consultation on complex projects as top-level contributor or specialist
Developing of Framework infrastructure and services within one of the SOA design patterns
Experience with performance tuning and optimization of service-based Framework infrastructure and services
XML Document Familiarity (i.e. XSDs, XLST, DOM, SAX, STaX)
Minimum 6 years developing software using Java. At least 4 years of this experience must have been obtained in the last 7 years. Thorough knowledge of the Java language and platform.
Minimum 4 years developing software for UNIX and Linux (Redhat versions 3-5) operating systems. At least 2 years of this experience must have been obtained in the last 4 years
Experience implementing Web Services and Web Service Clients (i.e. SOAP, REST, Spring Web Services, Apache AXIS) (Strongly Suggested Experience)
Experience with common Java application Frameworks, & APIs (i.e. Spring)
Experience architecting, designing, developing, testing, and supporting integration of software systems with functional requirements, preferable using Agile Methodologies
Experience "wrapping" legacy systems or components as Web Services within a SOA framework
Developing solutions integrating and extending COTS products
Programming and development of application software for complex systems and software testing - Experience with Unit Test
Experience in development within the Eclipse Integrated Development Environment (IDE)
Experience working with relational databases (i.e. MySQL, Oracle)
Basic understanding of testing with JUnit
Experience with Java Application Security (i.e. J2EE Security, Spring Framework)
Experience with version control using Subversion, Maven, Jenkins, and Nexus
Understanding of Enterprise Java Web application development
