This is a unique opportunity to assist with the roll-out of a new Sysco Operating Company located in Long Island - Central Islip, NY. The Director of Merchandising/Marketing is responsible for the direction and management of all Merchandisers and Merchandising/Marketing Assistants.

Responsible for the direction and management of all Merchandisers and Merchandising/Marketing Assistants.
Responsible for Inventory levels, Service levels, and Earned Income.
Responsible for negotiation of vendor selection and SKU rationalization.
Responsible for vendor negotiations for all marketing programs from vendors.
Responsible for direction of sales support, merchandising training, and promotional activities.
Responsible for directive and management of the Logistics department.
Responsible for all marketing expenditures and development of the annual Marketing Plan and Financial Plan for the department.
Develop, coordinate, mail, track all contests, promotions, productions and food shows including food show production, mailings, services, theme development, etc.
Develop, coordinate and mail all vendor information for all food shows.
Coordinate and responsible for all corporate quarterly promotions and quarterly spiffs promotions, tracking and payouts.
Negotiate vendor participation for promotions and food shows.
Coordinate the telephone on-hold advertising system.
Responsible for vendor participation at regional meetings.
Develop and coordinate all food shows.
Lead person responsible for all sales meetings formats including site inspection, meeting materials, menus, new item tables, agendas and all related needs.
Responsible for typing, filing and distribution of marketing materials for the department on a daily basis.
Develop and maintain spreadsheet analysis for all food shows and promotions with items, growth and bill-backs.
Maintain current vendor/broker list.
Develop, coordinate and maintain vendor/broker marketing packages including monthly and quarterly mailings.
Responsible for marketing package bill-backs and seeing them through the system that payment has been received.
Direct all functions in the Marketing Department.
Develop, coordinate and maintain all marketing profit/loss statements for the Marketing Department.
Assist with the development of all printed materials.
Maintain communication between other departments and marketing staff.
Any other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the President or any other management personnel.
Required minimum Education/Work Experience:
At least 1 year of Merchandising and/or Marketing experience
Preferred Education/Work Experience:
Bachelor's in Marketing and/or Merchandising
1 year of Supervisory and/or Lead experience
