Under limited supervision, provides leadership and support in the development and implementation of teacher and leader effectiveness training programs, ongoing regional support, and in collecting, summarizing, and analyzing progress data related to teacher and leader evaluation tools. Additional duties, include but are not limited to, facilitating an effective system of internal and external communication; maintaining current knowledge and professional expertise and applying this knowledge to the performance of program job responsibilities; using current and widely accepted management principles to maximize human, financial, and technical resources and to adhere to state, federal, and department rules, regulations, and procedures; creating and maintaining a high performance environment characterized by positive leadership and a strong team orientation; and collaborating with Title I, School Improvement, Standards, Instruction, and Assessment, Policy, and Technology to meet the GaDOE’s goals of improving student achievement; working collaboratively with other local, state, and federal agencies, as assigned. State-wide travel required.
Master’s degree in education, education administration, or a related field and three years of professional education experience which includes coordinating/conducting school and/or system-wide professional learning activities. Must hold or be eligible for Georgia Professional Standards Commission certification. Note : Must submit required certification documentation with resume and cover letter or application.
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:
Administrative experience (assistant principal and/or principal) in school leadership, professional development, and/or curriculum and instructional improvement at a system, regional or state level.
Five or more years experience in professional learning and/or school improvement and/or data analysis.
Experience in educational leadership as it relates to teacher effectiveness, leader effectiveness, and instructional improvement.
Experience collaborating within and across organizational lines.
Knowledge of Professional Learning and best practices associated with adult learning and knowledge of current research on scientifically-based research practices for improving teaching and learning.
Pay grade 18 – Annual salary range $47,280.21 (minimum) to $82,962.30 (maximum). Hiring salary is commensurate with current employment, relevant education/training and work experience, and available funding.
