Summary: Works under the leadership of the Manager of Occupational Therapy and/or Occupational Therapy Supervisor and the guidance of the Senior Occupational Therapist - Uses objective evaluation techniques to assess the physical limitations and medical condition of patients who have upper quadrant disease or injury - Prescribes and implements a treatment program which is designed to return patients to their maximum level of function -Rotates through assigned areas of department or may have the opportunity to focus on one service area - Work collaboratively with all members of the multidisciplinary health care team to maximize patient and team outcomes - Promotes improvement in service, department and hospital systems to benefit patient care - Incorporates and operationalizes the goals and objectives of the Hospital at the site of care - Mentors others to promote quality and excellence of care - May act in absence of Senior Occupational Therapist to coordinate patient care activities on the service. Requirements: Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy. Requires 18 months experience as a licensed Occupational Therapist. Licensure from State of Maryland, Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners; Bi-annual CPR certification 8 CEUs/year or 75% of continuing education credits in hand therapy annually for last 2 two years. CHT required. Minimum of 3 years, and 3500 hours of hand therapy experience as a licensed Occupational Therapist.
