Intel's Mobile & Communications Group (MCG) needs high energy engineers to help drive next-generation tablet development. The successful candidate will have a critical role in launching Intel's Windows-based tablet roadmap and engaging with tier one and tier two OEMs and ODMs to accelerate their time-to-market. You will lead industry cutting edge mobile technologies; security, sensors, touch, compute continuum, energy management, connected standby, and others.
The MCG Platform Integration and Validation team is looking for talented Delivery Engineers to plan, schedule and drive the delivery of high quality tablet software and hardware platforms. As a Delivery Engineer, you will be working with customers/ODMs, product planners, sister integration teams, and other engineering teams to develop the requirements and strategy necessary for the successful delivery of Windows-based tablet platforms that meet Intel's rigorous quality standards. You will also drive cross functional teams and manage timelines and interdependencies to support multiple platform programs as well as staying in close communication with senior management on status, risks, and changes.
In this role, you will work in a team of system integration and validation engineers focused on Windows based Tablets. Excellent project management, leadership, cross team collaboration, verbal and written communication skills are essential. Strong technical, analytical and problem solving abilities are also required. The ability to deliver and land projects is the most critical part of the role. You must also be passionate about creating a high power team atmosphere and being a catalyst for excellence in the team by leading by example.
Key responsibilities of the Delivery Engineer are to:
-Schedule and manage the delivery of the Best Known Software/Hardware configuration
-Define and communicate the requirements, scope, size and cost of programs
-Create/track/adjust the program schedule
-Assess risks and identify solutions to timely, efficient achievement of program goals
-Ensure that quality standards and budget constraints are met
-Ensure appropriate progress against schedule and take remedial action as appropriate
-Work with all stakeholders to make sure that timelines are kept
-Communicate with other teams and management on a regular cadence on status, risks, and program changes
-Work with the engineers to understand and communicate critical issues and to be able to present the findings to both a technical and non-technical audience
-Work with engineers and others to improve the platform validation process continuously and to identify necessary improvement programs
BS/MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Equivalent
Must have 3+ years of experience in at least one of the following areas:
- Building processes and managing projects
- Product development experience including one or more of the following: Windows, HW/SW, Tablets, Phones
- Technical customer facing experience (ex. solutions architect, technical account manager)
