Administrative Services Assistant 3. Under the human resource director, you will perform complex administrative work providing support to the wardens and administrators of the Division of Corrections (2,200 employees) in the area of recruiting/human resources. Employee will be responsible for the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to the recruitment/employment of 34 corrections & parole services facilities. Will serve as the expert in recruiting/employment, ensuring consistency throughout the division. Will coordinate statewide recruiting efforts by assisting in filling all exempt and non-exempt positions. Will manage internal and external applicant placement. Will prepare Excel spreadsheets for weekly and monthly reports. Conducts prior reviews on applicant's qualifications. Will oversee the onboarding process for the Division of Corrections. Coordinates all outreach activities (job fairs, training, college recruiting, etc.) for all DOC facilities. Monitors and documents good faith efforts towards Affirmative Action plans and diversity goals. Oversees DOC's summer internship program. Ability to assist in initiating vacancy announcements and register requests. Ensures the HR staff in field understands and adheres to employment policies and procedures and the federal, state and local regulatory requirements are consistent. Responsible for assisting all facilities with DOC assessments with questions and concerns. Coordinates the training initiatives of the human resources department and HR field personnel. Special projects as assigned by the human resources director. Note: preference will be given to applicants with recruiting/employment experience. Special requirement: employee must have excellent communication skills and be very proficient in computer skills. Must be able to work in a team environment. Must be willing to do public speaking in front of small and large groups on various employment/recruiting topics. Must be willing to travel throughout the state.

Training: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university. Preference may be given to candidates with a major in the area of public or business administration, accounting, or related field.

Substitution: Additional qualifying experience as described below may be substituted on a year-for year basis for the required training.

Experience: Three years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid employment in a technical or professional position providing administrative services which included responsibilities related to the duties area described above.

Substitution: Successful completion of graduate study in an accredited college or university in one of the above fields may be substituted for the required experience on a year for-year basis for up to 2 years of the required experience.
