The Territory Sales Manager (TSM) will prospect new clients and manage a local sales team to drive superior marketplace execution, growth and profit performance while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction within their territory. This position requires a “player coach" ability to build relationships with customers and provide direction to a team which includes Portfolio Sales Managers (PSMs) and Service Sales Representatives (SSRs). This position reports to the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) with a dotted line reporting relationship to the local Operating Unit President.


The TSM will:
  • Identify, build and develop a high performance territory sales team from the ground up
  • Assist team as a “player coach" to help drive pipeline development
  • Motivate team to consistently meet and exceed quota goals and performance objectives through 1:1 coaching, feedback and ongoing performance management
  • Manage the performance and results of direct reports. Directly accountable for the execution and achievement of their individual and team goals
  • Gain market share through networking and establishing relationships with potential client decision makers
  • Achieve quarterly/annual sales goal by consistently meeting monthly sales quotas
  • Prepare and conduct weekly sales meetings involving sales strategies, competitive business analysis and financial forecasts
  • Review and furnish weekly activity reports to sales team to ensure optimal productivity requirements are being met
  • Forecast, track and provide weekly sales metrics and status reports to Regional Sales Manager
  • Track and report weekly sales activities to management following established guidelines
  • Identifying areas of opportunity and strategies to improve revenue and overall profitability
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of company products to facilitate sales efforts that effect target markets
  • Participate in sales meetings and training and engage in local and regional associations as warranted
  • Continue education by participating in trade seminars and conferences


  • Minimum 5 years overall sales experience, with 2+ years’ experience leading a revenue-driven sales team
  • Extensive sales experience and knowledge of professional sales techniques
  • Strong knowledge of sales cycle, from lead generation to closure
  • Ability to effectively manage and maintain peer and business relationships with a high degree of integrity and trust
  • Roofing industry knowledge or experience, a plus
  • Sandler sales training methodology, a plus
  • Must have valid driver’s license
  • Ability to travel 80% of the time
  • Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and previous experience motivating teams through leadership, mentoring, communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, experience and training
  • Experience in recruiting, training, and developing a sales team
  • Solid verbal, written, interpersonal and listening skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including SharePoint and CRM
