Under general supervision, plan activities of the assigned department by scheduling and prioritizing activities in collaboration with site supervisors. Manage the management systems to achieve the assigned planning and scheduling objectives in the assigned area. Responsible for effective job planning, scheduling, communication, preparations, staging, budget/forecasting, runtime forecasting, warehouse storage levels and reporting.

Through close interaction with the Supervisor in the assigned area, establishes and monitors planned maintenance schedules for plant/equipment. Conducts and participates in daily, weekly and monthly planning meetings with key stakeholders. Reviews, prioritizes and schedules work orders

Establishes and maintains a maintenance history for all plant/equipment in the maintenance management system

Supports execution of contracts by preparing scopes of work for internal and external jobs, initiates requests for parts and materials. Generally interfaces with Global Sourcing department, but may deal directly with vendors for the provision of services and equipment

Responsible for "Runtime Forecasting" process execution and outcomes in assigned area

Responsible for providing guidance and mentoring to Maintenance Planner I personnel in a) Freeport-McMoRan EMS practices and b) sound planning and scheduling techniques

Responsible for supporting the area Maintenance Supervisor in all facets of job preparation, execution, and follow up as prescribed by the Freeport-McMoRan-EMS standards. This includes time spent "in the field" to assure readiness and availability of materials and equipment resources

Develop, monitor and adjust preventive maintenance schedules for equipment. Maintains these schedules in the maintenance management system

Collaborate with other Planners and first line supervisors in the long range planning and scheduling for planned major production shutdowns. This long range planning includes (but is not limited to): job identification, job priority, resource requirements, materials requirements, budget forecasts and interdepartmental coordination

Responsible for maintaining the integrity of information in the maintenance management system, for assigned area

Assists with departmental budgets and weekly forecasting. Responsible for assuring adequate forecasting of large dollar maintenance materials to meet maintenance and financial requirements

Generates regular and ad hoc reports for site management, to assist with the measurement of key performance indicators

Performs other duties as needed

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

and

six (6) years related experience in maintenance or mining/manufacturing operations

OR

Bachelor's degree in applicable field and two (2) years related experience in maintenance or mining/manufacturing operations

Thorough knowledge of site processes, equipment and infrastructure for all crafts

Thorough knowledge of Preventive and Corrective Maintenance management on assigned equipment.

Demonstrated understanding of the business decision processes in the planning, prioritizing, and scheduling of the maintenance activities

Knowledge and experience in SAP software, and familiarity with other software, related to Maintenance functions and systems in assigned area

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing (as required within the entire Branch business community)

Demonstrated understanding of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards

Preferred Qualifications (e)

Experience working in a mining environment

Experience performing Maintenance Planning activities

Proficiency using MS Office software including MS Word, Excel, Projects, PowerPoint, Outlook

Willing and able to participate in weekend on-call rotation

Criteria/Conditions

Work is in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see

Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects up to thirty (30) pounds during the course of the workday

Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, or manufacturing plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required
