Manage the coordination of departmental functions to ensure business unit is operating to the highest standard of safety, quality, customer service, and financial objectives. This includes leading hourly associates while working closely with others through mutually supportive contributions and effective interactions.

Ability to communicate and document technical matters with Maintenance Engineering, Quality, Senior Management Team & Auditors
Work closely with all members of the Business Unit to ensure Business Unit objectives are met or exceeded. This includes working with the Business Unit leadership team in setting priorities and properly deploying resources.
Demonstrate a clear understanding of regulatory requirements and of GMP standards through compliance of the Covidien Quality policy.

Prepare safety incident reports.
Write and/or update departmental S.O.P’s.
Timely completion of annual performance appraisals.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE : (Identify reporting structure)
Reports to Superintendent when applicable.
Work with Business Unit team supporting groups daily (i.e. Maintenance, Facilities, Engineering & QA).
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
Knowledge or equivalent training required to perform position duties:
Previous Leadership experience with positions of increasing responsibility.
Professional Competence and knowledge:
Actively acquire the necessary technical, functional, and interpersonal knowledge and skills to accomplish the expectations of the role.
Work closely with senior management and Human Resources in applying organizational policy, guidelines and procedures correctly and timely.
Develop and maintain knowledge of products, equipment, processes, regulatory requirements, and safety regulations.
Lean Manufacturing concepts and Six Sigma certification.
Length of necessary/required experience:
3-5 years in working in a manufacturing environment.
Understanding of Lean, particularly 5S and Autonomous Maintenance a plus.
Ability to solve problems – critical thinker.
Presentation and facilitation skills.
Personal computer skills.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Work well in a “Team-based” environment.
