Job Description

ROLE SUMMARY

Cigna is seeking a talented Packaging Engineer to work within the Client Engineering team responsible for software packaging and automation of such procedures. The person in this role should be highly technical with a broad set of skills and experience. They should be an expert in end user computing, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices and related applications, peripherals and tools. This person develops solution and assists in integration that supports end user computing devices, applications, mobile and midrange devices. Specific roles include hand-off coordination between Engineering and Operations, software packaging, providing assistance in the maintenance and trouble shooting of packages. They should have excellent troubleshooting skills and be a creative thinker. They should also have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Lastly, they should strive for efficiency improvements, improving and documenting the packaging process..

RESPONSIBILITIES

Forecast, rationalize, plan & implement necessary patches and upgrades
Provide technical assistance and management leverage to projects as assigned
Must be able to work independently on assignments and report progress to your supervising manager
Must be able to follow defined company policies and procedures
Leveraging new knowledge through documentation and updating the Knowledge Base and sharing that knowledge
Achieving high standards in quality and productivity of software request management, including responsiveness, fulfillment time, & satisfaction
Contributing to the strategy and goals for Software Packaging and Distribution technologies, policies and procedures
Supporting Customer Service project activities aimed at improving our procedures and processes as well as anticipating our users’ needs

. Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree or higher strongly preferred in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
Must have 4+ years of desktop support experience with strong Programming, Scripting or Operations Automation skills.
Strongly prefer candidates that have experience working within Virtualization environments as the current environment is moving more toward Virtualization
Experience with Windows XP, Windows 7, Active Directory Structure and server internals and operations
Requires experience in developing and testing software packages using AdminStudio

Requires experience in using Workflow Manager
Requires experience in Admin Studio Virtualization Pack to create App-V packages

Requires experience inAdmin Studio Application Compatibility Pack to verify applications are compatible with targeted operating systems

Create/modify packages to run on Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows Server 2000, Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008 operating systems

Creation/modification of MSI, EXE, and App-V packages to install in-house developed, and vendor supplied applications

Creation/modification of SCCM 2007 packages and task sequences

Creation/modification of Marimba packages

Assist with the troubleshooting and remediation of application issues

Creation/modification of VB, PowerShell, and Wise scripts

Strong customer service focus, highly organized, responsible, and team orientated with good interpersonal and communication skills.
