Serves as assistant to Registered Nurse Manager I and Physician. Ensures employee and/or inmate required data records are processed accurately, in a timely manner, and maintained in accordance with established procedures. Serves as department timekeeper. Responsible for travel requests, advances and voucher process. Maintains office supplies and equipment as needed, assists with inventory and ACA Standards for Haynesville Correctional Center, Haynesville Correctional Unit 17 and Caroline Correctional Unit 2. Responsible for department procurement process.
High school diploma or equivalent. Working knowledge of office practices, procedures and standard office equipment. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and independently; interpret rules and regulations; revise or develop new forms and procedures; and set priorities. Requires mental alertness, knowledge of medical terminology, filing systems and principles, and ability to organize and maintain confidential medical records and schedule patients. Certificate, clerical aptitude; general knowledge of business, English, and mathematics; strong computer skills (particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel). Demonstrated ability to type accurately and with satisfactory speed from copy of more than average difficulty. Demonstrated ability to work as a team member. Employee should also be able to handle a very demanding workload and relate pleasantly with other employees, the public and offenders under stressful conditions. Recent experience using office equipment (i.e. computers, printers, copier and fax machine).
Prefer previous office experience in medical environment.
