This Medical Lab Technician or Medical Technologist position is an evening shift position in Microbiology, working 4 days one week and 5 days the next for an average of 36 hours per week with benefits. The Microbiology area includes the disciplines of bacteriology, parasitology, virology, mycology, mycobacteriology, and serology. Provides reference lab and hospital services. Dynamic work environment that allows for opportunities for team-building and skill development.

Salary Ranges:
MT (ASCP Certified): 25.43 - 38.14
Other MT: 23.12 - 34.67
MLT: 21.01 - 31.52

Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
A college degree in clinical laboratory science, chemical, physical or biological sciences or equivalent is preferred and you must meet the qualifications of the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA II).
completion of clinical laboratory internship required.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
MT or MLT certification, or eligible to sit for a MT or MLT certification exam.

EXPERIENCE:
Prefer one or more years of microbiology experience.

OTHER SKILLS:
Working knowledge of specimen collection, preparation, and test requirements and factors affecting test interpretation in responding to inquiries
' Good written and verbal communication skills
' Working knowledge of computer systems such as Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft Office programs
' Mathematical ability to calculate fractions, percentages, ratios, proportion measurements and apply practical algebra
' General understanding of laboratory equipment to calibrate and do minor repairs
