Job Summary: **Temporary Position February 5-June 5, 2013** The LVN utilizes knowledge of basic nursing principles, practices, and ethics in order to perform procedures and tasks within the scope of their LVN license. Responsible for providing nursing care to patients who present with urgent, emergent, or potential health problems in all assigned Pediatric clinics. May require travel to off-site clinics. Performs other duties as needed. Job Specifications: Graduate of a school of Vocational Nursing or current California state licensure required. No experience required; one year clinical LVN experience highly desirable. Must have and maintain current and unrestricted California LVN license and BLS certification. Use of computer, copier, fax machine, answering telephones, good digital dexterity, good hand-eye coordination to utilize assessment tools, delicate and precise manipulation skills. Good verbal and written communication with healthcare team, patients and families. Requires ability to interact positively and professionally with others; flexibility to adjust work schedule as needed; communicate clearly; emotional stability; attention to detail; make valid assessments and cope with stressful situations. Requires visual acuity of 20/40 with correction; ability to distinguish colors; hearing capacity to sense body sounds; sense of touch adequate to measure by palpitation; ability to smell odors related to disease process. Requires flexibility for travel to off-site clinics as needed.
