Global Tungsten & Powders Corp. (GTP) is located in Towanda, PA in the Northeastern corner of the State. GTP has an additional manufacturing facility centrally located in Europe in the Northeastern corner of the Czech Republic in the town of Bruntal. GTP’s primary emphasis is the manufacture of tungsten and molybdenum powders with additional emphasis on other specialty products

BASIC PURPOSE:
This research and development position will involve multiple types of projects. The majority of these projects will be in support of various hydrometallurgical processes for the production and purification of tungsten, molybdenum, cobalt, tantalum and other inorganic materials and metals. A strong emphasis will be to optimize each hydrometallurgical process for new or alternative raw materials. Responsibilities will include project planning, organizing, executing, coordinating, interpreting and documentation. In addition to typical lab-scale research, evaluation of production data and testing will be necessary.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

:

This position requires a Ph.D. in Chemistry, with a strong Inorganic background. Candidate should have experience in coordination compounds and separation chemistries. Knowledge of hydrometallurgical processing, high pressure synthesis, electrochemistry, and organometallic chemistry would be desirable.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

:

This position will require a Ph.D. in Chemistry, or related discipline. Research background in inorganic synthesis, characterization, and aqueous separations is essential. Effective writing and oral communication skills are required. Knowledge of six-sigma principals is a plus.
