The Health, Exercise and Sport Sciences Department is seeking a qualified and motivated individual for the position of Department Administrator A2. The successful candidate must be highly organized, detailed oriented, skilled, professional individual who has excellent judgment and would enjoy working in a busy environment. The department administrator will manage the daily administrative functions of the department, oversees fiscal and budgetary management, human resource administration, course scheduling, facilities and resource management, coordination of contract and grant efforts, supervision of staff, student workers, development and implementation of operational procedures and other special projects. This person must have the ability to interact and work effectively with a large diverse population, participates with the Chair and senior departmental faculty in strategic and operational decision making as a member of the department's leadership team. High school diploma or GED; Directly related management expertise in fiscal services, administration, and human resources gained through either 2 years of equivalent-level work experience OR Completion of the UNM Management Academy. At least 3 years of additional work experience that can be demonstrated to be applicable to the duties listed on the job description.
Bachelor's Degree -5 years of successful supervisory experience -3 years experience with Banner Finance, Payroll, Hyperion reports, UNM Jobs -Experience hiring students, staff and faculty -Supervising administrative staff, including organizing, prioritizing, training and scheduling work assignments. Proficient use of Microsoft Office including drafting correspondence, preparing meeting minutes, creating spreadsheets using MS Excel.
