Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of SharePoint Analyst located Houston, TX through February 22, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
50% Deliver new and enhance existing SharePoint collaboration solutions (using the MCBU IM SharePoint Standard), including the following tasks.
Elicit business requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, site visits, business process descriptions, use case scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
Decompose business requirements into functional information management requirements with an appropriate level of detail suitable for use by the technical team. Work closely with document controllers and content managers.
Develop and maintain functional and technical documentation, including business process design where necessary.
Develop SharePoint solution from functional design, build and test.
Maintain Stakeholder engagements (including communications, reporting, change management activities).
Apply CPDEP for IT, and OE principles, practices and processes to ensure quality results for Information Management project planning/deployment.
Apply Information Management standards, define and design user interface requirements, develop required metadata, conduct testing validation, lead the development of any associated doc.
Assist in Project validation and prioritization.
25% Provide SharePoint level1 and 2 support, including but not limited to:
Daily monitoring of escalated, level 2, support requests
Familiar with Remedy Ticketing System.
Efficient handling and timely close-out of assigned ‘Customer’ service request calls.
Provide SharePoint information management best practice advice to MCBU ‘Customers’
Assist with business-level site administration activities.
Maintain SharePoint lists, document libraries, pages, styles, workflows, metadata and content management of sites is in accordance with business objectives and priorities.
Maintain compliance of sites with GSPS and MCBU configuration standards as required
Day-to-day site technical configuration to maintain effectiveness of sites according to evolving business needs.
Undertake regular, routine reporting tasks to ensure compliance with the Document Management Solution governance framework.
10% Participate in the maintenance of MCBU project governance standards, training and process documentation:
Analyse and support governance change and exception requests.
Develop draft changes to governance, SharePoint technical standards and support documentation.
Conduct governance assurance checks of SharePoint documentation, training materials and formal communications prior to their use in MCBU
Monitor/audit site collection configuration and use to support the integrity and compliance of SharePoint sites.
Investigate, report and develop remediation plans for SharePoint non-compliances.
5% Potentially, participate in the development and execution of training end users in SharePoint 2010. Maintain and continuously improve SharePoint training materials and course as necessary. Deliver face-to-face training to SharePoint 2010 end users as necessary.
10% Information Management Team Activities, including but not limited to:
Attend and contribute to IM and sub- team meetings.
Contribute to, and attend relevant MCBU SharePoint Users Forum as necessary
Lead IM workshops, presentations, Lunch n’ Learn type sessions as required. Attend and contribute to Special Project meetings as required. Attend and contribute to IM Project and initiative meetings as required.
Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
2-3 years of experience in administering and developing with SharePoint as a Site Collection Administrator or Power User.
Ability to work well in a matrix organization that is extremely fast paced with heavy competition for scarce resources.
Very good attention to detail to ensure SharePoint configuration and site builds are as designed.
Strong technical documentation skills .
Strong communication skills with the ability to translate user requirements to IM tool sets OE and Compliance.
Strong business analysis and problem-solving skills.
Discipline to work within a change control and governance framework.
Possess the blended ability of understanding business/operational know-how, as well as technology know-how.
Prior experience within Chevron serving in a embedded Technology role - e.g. Downstream, Upstream, or Chevron Gas and Midstream.
Deep understanding across various technology domains, as well as technology integration at all levels (i.e. data, solutions, etc.).
Deep understanding of the integration of business workflows, including workflow modeling, and technology.
Project Management Experience - Minimum of 3 years practical experience and knowledge across most of the following disciplines - Project Management including Business Case Development, Business Analysis, Decision Analysis. Demonstrated CPDEP understanding and experince in applying processes and tools along with CSOC Regular certification.
Strong SharePoint Skills - Effective use of out the box web parts (Data View, Content Query, Data Form, List Views); Experience in SharePoint Designer and configuration and customization of navigation and site artifacts; Understanding of Site Columns and Content Types; Microsoft Search technologies, branding and themes, InfoPath Forms Services, Microsoft Office integration capabilities; Architecture and design of SharePont implementations using best practices
