WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Payroll Alliances is looking for an experienced leader to manage the Strategic Partnership between The Hartford, and ADP, one of the countries largest providers of outsourced payroll, and one of The Hartford's largest producers of Small Commercial premium.
In this role, the selected individual will be responsible for achievement of a series of financial and business results through execution of The Hartford's Sales, Underwriting, and Strategic Business Development processes.
This position is accountable for managing the relationship with the countrywide leadership team at ADP, developing and executing effective sales plans, and strategies for both short and long term growth and profit. This role is also accountable for managing all sales, underwriting, and agency management activities through a team of sales and underwriting professionals.
Due to the unique nature of this role, a strong combination of Sales, Underwriting, and management experience is required, along with clearly demonstrated Strategic Thinking skills, and a strong business acumen, to understand and appreciate the unique business model that working through a payroll company presents.
Sales Management: The Sales Leader directs, implements, and drives HIG's disciplined sales process throughout ADP's countrywide sales organization.. Sets and executes collective priorities for agency relationship. Builds a strong team which fosters collaboration, open dialogue, while involving staff in critical decision making and planning initiatives. The Sales Leader works as a part of the Sr. Management team and with Segment staff to achieve broader organizational goals.
Agency Management/Agency Planning: Develops a deep understanding of the ADP relationship, their unique needs and capabilities, building and leveraging key relationships and resources to maximize opportunities. Provides strategic and operational direction to the sales team to identify and uncover new business development opportunities. Sets goals and objectives, implements the sales planning process which aligns agency and Hartford goals to drive profitable growth. Utilizes various financial tools/metrics to monitor overall sales plan results and takes appropriate actions.
Territorial Management: Develops a thorough understanding of geographic sales territory, develops deep knowledge of territorial market conditions to understand how to leverage Hartford product, services and resources within the marketplace to maximize business development opportunities. Aligns and deploys Hartford resources to capture desired market share in territory. Manages and monitors results to ensure actions and plans produce desired outcomes, adjusting as needed.
Attracts, selects, develops, and retains high caliber talent. Effectively manages staff through coaching and performance management Removes obstacles and sets clear direction for the staff. Fosters staff development and establishes clear individual and team expectations. Provides timely and constructive feedback to staff and manages performance. Develops and manages talent pipeline to ensure adequate staff levels to meet anticipated business needs. Recognizes and rewards employees who exceed expectations.
Minimum experience, education and skills required:
WHAT IS THE COMPENSATION OPPORTUNITY?
- BA/BS degree, advanced degree preferred and/or relevant industry designations preferred (i.e., CIC, CPCU, ARM)
- 5 years of demonstrated experience in developing, building and/or managing a successful Sales Playbook, or well-documented Sales Model.
- Highly regarded for leadership capabilities and relationship/collaboration skills
- Strong financial/business acumen is critical to success
- Solid communication/presentation skills
- Technologically knowledgeable - Microsoft Tools: Word, Excel, Power Point

Payroll Alliances has established a multitude of strategic alliances with payroll companies throughout the country whereby Workers' Compensation premium is collected as our client-insured's run payroll with their respective payroll provider. Utilizing state of the art automation, our product offers a unique billing methodology that is intended to free up cash flow for the small business owner and minimize large audit adjustments
