We are headquartered just outside of the nation's capital in Springfield, Virginia with site locations throughout the Washington, DC Metropolitan area.
We are looking for an Enterprise Architect to join our staff. The Enterprise Architect will be responsible for developing segment architectures of DoD architecture framework (DoDAF) in the Army and DoD environment. The Segment Architecture Functional Area of responsibility manages the development and maintenance of the agency's segment architectures. The segments encompass the agency's core mission areas including but not limited to transport, collaboration, security, business applications, and enterprise applications. The segments document the agency's conceptual target state architecture and serve as a launching point for all agency development and modernization activities. This functional area is responsible for establishing via documentation an approach to developing the target architecture, executing the approach, and delivering segment architectures based on mission threads and business drivers. The segments shall range from abstract to concrete, and support strategic planning as well as day-to-day modernization activities.
Essential Functions: Demonstrated ability and experience in developing segment architectures;
Apply methods of enterprise architecture to align strategy, plans, and systems with the missions, goals and structure and processes of the organization; Perform process improvement efforts to create a more effective, secure, and efficient Information Enterprise (IE); Maintain and leverage keen knowledge of emerging technologies and industry trends to support forward-looking architectures; Collaborate with stakeholders to develop a common enterprise foundation to guide IT planning, investment, acquisition and operational decisions for guiding future decisions and achieving the IE objectives; Provides context for and identification and development of enterprise services, topology of software, hardware, and networks including LANS WANS operating systems and telecommunications; Support development and maintenance of an agency-wide segment architecture approach and framework, to include a program architecture guide, under the guidance of Enterprise Management and other directorates. The approach shall be consistent with OMB, DoD, and IC guidance on development of architecture artifacts and products; Support the development and maintenance of the architecture segments consistent with the architecture framework. Continually review, maintain, and optimize the segments as changes to solutions are implemented or proposed and coordinate segments with necessary stakeholders; Support the development of an architecture gap analysis, and analyze and report on gaps between "as-is" state versus "to-be" state in coordination with stakeholders; Support development of agency-wide segment architecture policies, procedures, and processes and draft effective and efficient procedures consistent with the segment architecture framework; Support internal and external governance activities (e.g., policy review board); Support development of Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) architecture segments, standards, specifications, and profiles and attend IC and DoD meetings as necessary; Identify and recommend organizational participation in relevant industry and government technical conferences, working groups, panels, etc. Maintain and leverage professional contacts; Identify new and emerging technologies that are relevant to the agency and recommend appropriate technologies to executive leadership. Seek stakeholder consultation and feedback for architecture products, technical policies, procedures, processes, roadmap, standards, and approved products list and continually review and optimize deliverables based on feedback, experience, and expertise; Support development of segment architecture performance metrics and reports and monitor, assess, and report on compliance of architecture segments by stakeholders; Establish automated tools that facilitate the development and management of architecture segments; Prepare and present materials (e.g., briefings, fact sheets, and whitepapers) as necessary and develop performance metrics and reports as necessary, and document and provide meeting minutes.

Assist with architecture compliance; Assist with investment review; Develop technical segments; Assist with EA artifact development; Assist with solution architecture; Assess EA compliance.
Minimum Qualifications: Experience with the DoD architecture framework (DoDAF) in the Army and DoD environment; Demonstrated experience with the Joint Architecture Reference Model (JARM); Demonstrated experience with architecture modeling toolsets (MEGA for DoDAF preferred); Shall possess and retain, at minimum, a Secret security clearance; Bachelors Degree plus 10 years of experience or a combination of technical experience, education and certifications.
