Duties And Responsibilities

& Minimum Requirements:
Under the supervision of the Dean of Student Financial Services, with dotted line reporting to the Associate Vice President for Compliance and Ethics, the Director of University Financial Aid Compliance manages all aspects of compliance with federal and banking (TILA) regulations and University policies related to the administration of approximately $450 million in student financial aid, University-wide. He/she will be responsible for assessing all existing controls and practices and identifying areas where improvement is needed to ensure compliance.

The position serves as the primary regulatory resource for the three Financial Aid Offices that administer $400 million for 11,000 students annually ($240 million in Federal aid and $160 million in University and external aid) as well as for the University Student Loan Office that administers a $50 million student loan repayment and collection portfolio. This position will provide guidance, support and training to ensure compliance with all pertinent financial aid and banking regulations as well as consumer protection and disclosure requirements for all financial aid staff, University-wide.

Required: BA degree and five to seven years experience in student financial aid administration direct experience in monitoring and interpreting federal financial aid regulations, along with hands-on experience managing federal aid programs within a University setting.

Highly Desired: Experience in a four-year private institution; experience in financial management/auditing, account reconciliations, financial aid compliance.
