Responsible for planning and implementing the necessary hardware, software and telecommunications equipment to maintain and/or enhance the companys local and wide-area networks.
Evaluate vendor products and recommend purchases consistent with the organizations short and long term objectives.
Recommend and implement network policies and procedures and ensure adherence to security procedures.
Responsible for oversight of the NOC, IT Operations and the Service Desk.
Interface with the Government daily to ensure quality customer service as well as resolve technical issues and ongoing service issues.
Independently analyze and resolve server, network and application problems.
Anticipate issues before users are impacted, analyze, problem-solve and implement to ensure little to no impact occurs.
Escalate issues that will have broad impact to solicit best approach for solution.
Provide software and hardware maintenance and operational support to all Microsoft systems with a focus on VMWare vSphere virtual server infrastructure.
Maintain and constantly improve server performance, reliability and security, including performance tuning, file system layout and optimization, and ongoing update of services in compliance with security policies.
Participate in audits and 3 rd party server scans.
Identify performance requirements and constraints.
Define and integrate current best practices (technical, security, process) in storage solution analysis and definition.
Coordinate regularly with management on solution plans and status.
Successful candidates should have a Bachelors degree and 6+ years relevant experience (or commensurate combination of education, training and experience).
Must have at least 1 year of working knowledge of TCP/IP and networking.
Must have at a minimum the following certifications: Security+ and ITILv3 Foundations. ITILv3 Intermediate certification is a plus.
Must be able to support a 24x7x365 environment - flexible to work all shifts to include weekends.
Experience providing network and information systems help desk support.
Understanding of ITIL processes and ownership for Incident Management, Problem Management, Request Fulfillment, and Event Management.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Experience with SCSM ticketing system a plus.
Exceptional communications skills.
Interpersonal, multi-taking, technical, organizational skills.
Previous experience supporting DoD/government customers.
This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Secret security clearance. In order to obtain a clearance you need to be a U.S. Citizen and show proof of citizenship.
