The Division of Health Professions Work-Study student is primarily responsible for assisting Program Directors, Lab Coordinators, and Staff in a variety of tasks. When scheduling allows, the student will assist faculty members with appropriate tasks.

Dean, Program Directors, Division Assistant, Secretary, Clerical Asst. HPS Assistant and/or Faculty

Job Duties (Duties Assignment Statement)
Relieve staff as needed.

Take messages for faculty and staff and deliver to appropriate person/office.

Assist with copy machine operation and re-stock paper in machine and computer labs as neccessary.

Re-stock paper in faculty and lab printers.

Take copy requests to the print shop. Pickup and distribute completed requests.

File records, etc.

Maintain confidential files of the department and ensure confidentiality of any information that may be viewed within.

Receive and distribute incoming mail.

Assist with Campus Clinical Lab housekeeping and laundry.

Assist with set up and breaking down of labs, maintenance of lab equipment and supplies record keeping.

Clean microwave, coffee machine, refrigerator and dining area as needed.

Assist with cleaning and maintenance of lab and computer equipment.

Type items and input items into the test bank as directed.f

Assist with graduate follow up surveys as directed.

Make copies as directed.

Other duties as assigned.

Job Duties (Safety / Policy & Procedures)
Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others.

Abide by the policies and procedures published in the Board Policies, College Policies, and Procedures, which are accessible on the Employee Home Page

Minimum Education/Experience
Currently enrolled OCCC student with a Federal Work Study Program award.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Good telephone and customer service skills.

Reliable and dependable work ethic.

Assist with setting up and breaking down labs.

Knowledge of Word, Excel and spreadsheets.

Prior experience in office setting.

Demonstrated ability to attend to details.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions
No heavy lifting restrictions. Ability to lift 30 lbs. without assistance.
