Provides care to patients undergoing invasive cardiac procedures. Collaborates with physicians and other team members to assess, implement and evaluate patient care in accordance with current policies and procedures. Performs in roles of circulator, scrub assistant, archive person, monitoring person, team leader and charge person.
- Education and formal training: Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technologist Program resulting in certification OR Graduate of an accredited Radiological Technologist Program and currently registered by ARRT OR a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist OR a Respiratory Therapist currently registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care. Also must have current certification in Basic Life Support (C.P.R.), ACLS and PALS; if not currently certified must complete certification within 1 year of employment date
- Work experience: Critical Care/Telemetry/Hemo/Dialysis background preferred OR Cath Lab or Specials Procedure experience OR CVT experience OR Respiratory Therapy experience.
- Knowledge, skills and abilities required : Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skill validation and competency testing. BLS Certified and ACLS Certified within one year of employment. Pass Cardiac Dysrhythmias Test.
- Other : Ability to take call on a rotational basis.
