Solutions and Innovations is a member of the Solutions and Innovation Team, which is a sales support organization for the classic service lines. This role is dedicated to better positioning Avanade solutions, assets and competencies, creating elements of differentiation from the competitive set, and enticing customers to learn more about Avanade and our offerings for the purpose to improving Avanade’s direct win rate and establishing our brand with direct customers and prospects.

Day to day direction for this position comes from the Team Lead and is part of the direct selling organization. This position also reports to the Office of the Americas CTO.

The Group Manager, Solutions and Innovations must have sufficient technical competency to address a majority of questions from a technical audience, have a high level sales/management expertise, maintain a comprehensive understanding of Avanade solutions and other field innovations, maintain a comprehensive view of changes in the industry and Avanade innovations, and credibly express the value of Avanade to an executive audience.

The Group Manager, Solutions and Innovation will liaison with Avanade sales, solutions, classic service lines and marketing to bring the voice of the customer into Avanade activities.

The Group Manager, Solutions and Innovation will build specific and measurable technical and “C” level relationships in existing and potential Avanade customers. The Solutions and Innovation Specialist will position customer business and IT challenges into technical solutions after qualification has taken place and will assist in deal shaping

The Group Manager, Solutions and Innovation must possess excellent communication skills, inclusive of written, visual and oral, and must have the ability to effectively bridge the gap between the business and IT organizations. The OU Architect must possess the ability to adapt and shape technical solutions across a defined range of industries and technologies and have expert level understanding of the Microsoft Platform.

Skills/Experience/Knowledge Required:
  • 10+ Years technology consulting experience
  • Prior consulting experience (internal or external)
  • Experience developing, architecting and leading implementation of large Microsoft technology based solutions services engagements
  • Experience leading and developing teams
  • Experience in technical pre-sales and delivery support
B.S. Degree Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related

Other Skills/Knowledge:
  • Full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience
  • Strong customer service/customer focus, client interface and interpersonal skills
  • Manages customer expectations effectively
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral, and ability to communicate complex concepts
  • MCPD Certification/Project Management Methodologies
  • Strong & successful track record of leading very large and complex presales efforts
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain “C” level relationships
  • Strong business acumen and time management skills
  • Demonstrated leadership experience:
  • Excellent personal leadership and communication skills

  • Consulting /project-based background:
  • Experience in assessing and managing the opportunity and risk associated with large scale + complex consulting projects
  • Track record in developing and growing long term, high value customer relationships at executive level
  • Strong technology and solutions depth:
  • Experience with Avanade Solutions and Service Line implementation projects
  • Specific knowledge of the Microsoft product line and software development best practices
  • Ability to guide and direct leadership teams in development, production, and promotion of solution offerings
  • Demonstrates a high degree of integrity, credibility and character
  • Ability to interface with Accenture and Microsoft client and technology teams
  • Track record of initiative and outstanding performance
  • Passion for learning
  • Willingness to travel and/or relocate

Key Responsibilities:
Direct Sales Support (60%)

  • Lead or provide direction on scope and approach for proposal development activities
  • Evaluate estimates for compliance with customer requests and identify value added services for including in proposal materials
  • Promote and support communication and information flow between the OU and Area Service Line and all other Area functions
  • Drive shared vision and scope for solution, assess business value and contribute to development of business case and mapping to technical solutions
  • Stimulate customer’s interest in Avanade and our point-of-view and breadth of capabilities and services.
Sales and marketing support (20%)

  • Identify potential targets for Avanade solutions within Avanade’s named
  • Interface with sales owners to position our solution and support latent selling
  • Interface with marketing to bring the voice of our customers into sales enablement materials and marketing collateral
  • Support marketing efforts in providing both oral and written materials as requested.
  • Promote continuous knowledge sharing and re-use of best practices across the Area and Global Service Line
  • Support OU Sales team members learning of our solution offerings.
Personal and service improvement (20%)

  • Maintain and broaden personal knowledge
  • Mentor SISAs on customer engagement and expressing value messages in the context of customer needs
  • Learn Avanade solutions and maintain awareness of Avanade innovations
  • Interface with sales owners to position our solution and support latent selling
  • Develop innovations based on customer interactions
