FT: 80 hours per pay period; Shift Hours: Days (hours may vary based on needs). Active TN RN licensure required.

A Masters Degree and a minimum of one year of Critical Care experience preferred. ACLS and BCLS required.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is a registered professional nurse who demonstrates expertise in a specific area of clinical nursing that has been further developed through Master's preparation in nursing. A selected patient population is the focus of practice. The CNS position is based on the needs of the patient and the health care system, and the expertise of the CNS. The CNS, under the direction of the Vice President/Director of Nursing and in collaboration with the Nurse Manager, is a leader, innovator, and change agent in pursuit of improved nursing practice and improved patient outcomes. The scope of practice encompasses the use of the nursing process in major areas: advanced practice, education, consultation, research, and leadership.

Five (5) years experience, two (2) years in specialty. Thirty-five (35) plus hours of continuing education required annually.
