Dewberry is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer for our Chapel Hill, NC. Duties will include electrical engineering design, building information modeling (BIM) using Revit MEP software, CAD drafting using AutoCAD software, drawing production, specification writing, discipline coordination between the various trades, shop drawing and submittal reviews, construction site reviews, and code reviews for MEP systems for various projects. Focus will be on the electrical systems for healthcare buildings, however, this position may also include assisting with other building systems and the construction process in the various engineering disciplines practiced by: mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and construction services. Successful candidates may be requested to participate in opportunities in other Dewberry offices. Duties may also include the review of MEP systems designed by others, interface with code officials and contractors, working with architects and other clients, and working with others within the Dewberry organization. This individual will work in a multi-discipline, team environment with primary responsibility for the design and production of construction documents for building systems. The engineer will also assist with the design and specification of power distribution systems, emergency generation systems, lighting, fire alarm, and other technology systems. Pursuit of registrations, accreditations, and continuing education related to areas of practice will be encouraged including USGBC LEED Accreditation, Professional Engineering license, and continuing education. Educational and exam costs will be reimbursed in accordance with Dewberry Employee Handbook and Company Policies.

Required Skills & Required Experience:
BSEE or ArchE Electrical degree.
3 to 6 years of experience with MEP projects, especially, electrical system design.
Must be a registered EIT and have passed state fundamental engineering exam in NC. For those over 4 years experience, PE license in NC preferred.
Must have experience designing electrical systems and producing design documents for buildings in Revit MEP and AutoCAD.
Must be a self-starter with initiative, drive and determination.
