Senior SW Program Manager - 704779 Description
The Software team within MCG is seeking a Senior Software Program Manager to lead SW execution in support of Smart Phones and Tablets.
The scope of this role is large, the SW components range from FW and drivers (graphics, communications, etc.), through OS, Intel value-add SW, tools, middleware, media, and applications (open source and 3rd-party ISVs).

The candidate is expected to lead the SW program execution team and drive the overall integrated platform level SW execution and schedules, identify and resolve issues, apply risk management as necessary, and ultimately deliver the SW Stack and product. Ability to apply judgment in order to resolve issues and define a lowest-risk path forward is critical. The candidate will be expected to represent the overall SW program in several execution forums and to senior management.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
--- Work with roadmap planning and architecture team to define and lock down product features during the planning phase.
--- Lead and drive internal cross functional teams to meet program deliverables and quality criteria according to program milestones.
--- Manage and track program schedules, technical issues, risks and priorities.
--- Manage day to day activities with engineering and cross functional teams.
--- Perform risk assessment and implement risk mitigation plans.
--- Integrate supplier schedules and deliverables into project plan.
You should possess a BS or MS in CS or EE or similar with 8+ years experience that includes Platform and/or Program Management roles for SW development and product delivery preferably in the mobile/wireless phone industry.

A strong SW background, with experience in SW development and product delivery for one or more of the following SW environments is required: Android, Windows, Linux. Excellent communication skills are required.
Candidate needs to demonstrate a high level of flexibility and ability to participate in multiple areas of a nimble organization.
A proven ability to set goals and execute is required - we are looking for someone who gets things done. Top priority is placed on candidates with proven experience in the mobile/wireless phone industry.

Key elements of the successful candidate will include:
- Extensive experience in program managing large complex programs involving large cross functional teams in a matrix organization, which are based in multiple geographic locations and regions.
- In-depth knowledge of product development lifecycle.
- Strong leadership and team building skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to make rapid decisions based on data, team collaboration and input to meet business objectives.
- Risk management.
- Self starter, self motivator, and highly adaptable.
- Ability to travel internationally and domestically (~ 10% - 20% time).
