The Washington Post is seeking a dynamic "Outside Sales" professional to join our Real Estate team.This candidate should have the ability to meet with existing clients and prospects in person, and build new client relationships; ability to thrive in a very fast paced deadline driven environment; superior customer service, and telephone prospecting sales experience preferred as well as experience using salesforce.com preferred.
Manage and grow existing account list with approximately 70 active accounts
Analyze clients’ and prospects’ advertising and marketing needs and consultatively recommend appropriate advertising solutions; quote rates and schedule advertising.
Seek out opportunities to drive incremental sales while managing existing business; aggressively pursue opportunities for new business over the phone.
Achieve and exceed personal sales goals as set by manager.
Assist in ad creation, provide suggestions, and determine appropriate layout for ad using advertising order entry system.
Build and maintain strong client relationships.
Maintain complete records on active and historic advertiser activity in Salesforce.com.
Keep up-to-date with industry trends, trade journals, etc. as they pertain to your accounts.
Increase and build revenue through out-bounding/cold calls to existing and potential clients.
Meet or exceed monthly performance metrics as determined by manager.
Problem-solve and respond to the needs of our advertisers in a professional manner.
Ensure customer satisfaction in every sales transaction.
2+ years of outside sales experience
Excellent organizational, time management and follow-through skills.
Ability to effectively manage and service approximately 70 existing accounts.
Attention to detail, and ability to ensure high quality-control when ordering ads in our system.
Ability to build new client relationships.
Superior customer service, and verbal and written communication skills.
Telephone prospecting sales experience required.
Proficient with MS Office and Excel required.
Experience using salesforce.com preferred.
Demonstrated ability to sell and effectively close sales.
Ability to grow business through cold calling over the phone.
Experience working in a sales-oriented environment.
Proven ability to communicate in a creative, persuasive style.
Ability to handle stress and pressure in a deadline-driven environment.
Responsive approach to customer service.
Clear and articulate speech with excellent phone etiquette.
Enthusiastic, goal-oriented team player.
Ability to work toward and beyond sales goals, personal motivation to exceed past performance.
Precise spelling, grammar, and editing skills.
Minimum 2 years experience in selling B2B.
Prefer prior advertising sales experience (in any advertising medium).
College degree required, and proven track record for achieving and exceeding sales goals.
