  • Contract Description: MAC IDIQ consisting of multiple FFP task orders.
  • Program Overview: PTAS NIOC provides IO and Cyber support to Fleet Cyber Command/C10F; Navy Information Operations Commands, and the Navy Cyber Defense Operations Command.
Experience with and ability to provide Subject Matter Expert level technical expertise on UNIX based systems used for Enterprise Computer Network Defense systems.

May be tasked to draft deployment and configuration plans, risk assessment management plans and ensure system compliance.

Responsible for assisting in analysis, management, coordination and operational support of the NCDOC CND Mission Support Systems (CNDMSS) used and/or operated by Department of the Navy (DoN), by a contractor of the DoN processing DoN information or other organizations on behalf of the DoN to include the implementation of policies, directives, and procedures regarding the planning, engineering, procurement and management within the NCDOC area of responsibility(AOR).

Responsible for the technical operation and system administration of all other Unix based systems assigned to the NCDOC Capabilities and Development Department including: Linux administration (Red Hat & SuSE); provisioning/deploying servers/VMs; system hardening (DISA STIGS); system monitoring; account and file system management; performance monitoring/tuning; VMware administration - familiarity with VMware virtualization concepts and enterprise deployments; data store management; resource management; familiarity with VMware snapshots/cloning; performance monitoring/tuning.

Responsible for Storage administration including: familiarity with SAN/NAS architecture and deployment; Brocade Fabric OS administration; storage provisioning and management; familiarity with NetApp snapshots and SnapVault; familiarity with NetApp Virtual Storage Console (VMware backup on NetApp).

Responsible for patching & VMS compliancy including: install, test, and deployment of software/patches for IAVA and VMS compliancy; reporting for IAVA and VMS; configuration management.

Responsible for performing work that involves installation, testing, operation, backups, troubleshooting, maintenance and administration of hardware and software systems using Unix, Linux, and/or Solaris Operating Systems, and SAN Storage.

Responsible for implementing and maintaining Information Assurance (IA) policies and measures to protect the availability, integrity, authentication, confidentiality and non-repudiation of NCDOC assets. Solaris and Linux based complex solutions.

Note: Position is currently in Norfolk, VA but will be moving to Suffolk in October, 2013.

  • At least 7 years SME level experience in administration of UNIX
  • DoD 8570.01-M (IAWF) requirement for this position is IAT level II
  • Proficient in shell scripting and able to troubleshoot scripts in various shells Proficiency with proficiency in administration of both Red Hat Enterprise Linux and SuSE Linux Enterprise Server.
