The Reebok Design Department is looking for a Graphic Design Director to lead the product graphics team. You must have the ability to direct the design of graphics for apparel, accessories and footwear. The ideal candidate posses a global outlook towards fashion, an awareness of performance/lifestyle trends, and strong communication skills. You will also need to effectively interact with a variety of cross functional groups including the Lifestyle and Sport product directors, marketing and development team. Knowledge of graphic treatments and screen printing techniques is a must. Product design familiarity is essential as well as trend awareness.
We’re seeking a person with a positive and professional attitude, a strong sense of team spirit, a history of taking initiative, and who shows strong technical capabilities with an understanding of manufacturing – as well as a desire to challenge convention. We are also looking for someone willing to take on the role of leader and mentor to junior designers.
Responsibilites:
Provide market research and present future trends based on seasonal concepts.
Research of new graphic techniques and applications.
Direct the design of graphic collections for men’s, women’s and footwear within cost, style, and consumer objectives.
Maintain all files and transfer of correct information to cross business functional units.
Develop strong relationships and work parallel with Production Management teams and Product Development.
Manage the day to day workload of the team and infuse product with strong and dynamic brand personality.
Present strategic direction and graphic concept direction at all milestone meetings.
Requirements:
Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Apparel Design or Fine Arts degree.
7-9 years minimum of relevant apparel and footwear graphics experience.
Knowledge of screen printing and graphic treatment techniques.
Strong communication/organizational/presentation skills are a must.
A proven ability to work with multiple people and teams.
The ability to respond quickly to multiple projects with strong time management skills is essential.
Domestic and international travel required.
Advanced skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign as well as basic office and organizational software.
Awareness and research abilities in fashion and cultural trends.
Managerial experience in a design or art department.
