The Process Engineer is responsible for continuous process related improvements and daily operational support of the Hot Press Manufacturing operation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the 24/7 Hot Press manufacturing operation
Maximize quality, capacity, and yield at minimum cost
Work with high temperature, PLC controlled furnaces to improve and optimize the thermal processing of Hot Press ceramics in a high volume production environment
Provide leadership in efforts to reduce cost and improve production from existing equipment
Identify and specify new equipment to improve production
Administer and track DOE.
Input and analyze data as needed
Perform other tasks as needed
Maintain safe and clean work environment.
Responsible for providing accurate data on all data collection forms.
Comply with all company and departmental safety policies including wearing proper PPE at all times.
Education and Experience :
B.S. in Engineering discipline, preferably Materials or Ceramic Engineering
Knowledge Skills and Abilities :
Knowledge of process development and advanced furnace control system
Background in lean or six sigma principles is a strong plus
Proficient computer skills including Windows, Microsoft Office and Outlook
Thermal modeling of high temperature furnace operations is a plus
Ability to read and interpret drawings and tolerances
Ability to work off shifts and weekends
Ability to communicate in English in both written and verbal form.
Ability to work with a positive, cooperative, self-motivated, courteous and professional attitude in a team environment.
Must be proficient in the use of personal computers systems using programs such as; Micro-Soft Office and statistical process control
