The Laboratory Care Technician performs laboratory specimen collection and point of care testing. The LCT has an important role in maintaining quality, proficiency and professionalism with the laboratory’s service for patients and other customers.
This position requires a 6am, non-negotiable start time, working primarily at Chisago City and as far north as Pine City. Position is with Monday - Friday shifts.
Length of shift will vary from 1-3 hours depending on the need for the day.
This is a Monday throuh Friday position.
Job Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED and completion of a formal phlebotomy education program with didactic and clinical components;or high school diploma/GED and completion of one year of full time clinical phlebotomy and laboratory experience; or enrollment in second year of CLT or CLS program.
Enrollment in a CLS or CLT program; or eligibility for National Credentialing Agency for Clinical Laboratory Personal (NCA), American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), American Certification Agency (ACA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT/MMCI) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA) initial or proof of existing certification and receipt of NCA, ASCP, ACA, AMT, NCCT/MMCI or NHA phlebotomy certification within 15 months of hire.
Prefer 1 year of clinical phlebotomy or laboratory experience.
Demonstrate the ability to work under stress in a variety of situations. Ability to exercise independent judgment. Demonstrate manual dexterity. Good phlebotomy skills. BLCLS certification preferred. Willingness to work at other sites. Must be able to demonstrate and document a working knowledge of laboratory computer systems including proficiency and accuracy in data entry.

Length of shift will vary from 1-3 hours depending on the need for the day.
Number of shifts per week will vary from 0 - 5 based on patient/location need.
