Ethicon LLC, a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting a Senior Safety & Ergonomic Specialist position for the facility located in San Lorenzo.
The Senior Safety & Ergonomic Specialist provides technical expertise on safety, ergonomics and occupational health matters. Will assist with the establishment, maintenance and improvement of robust processes to identify, evaluate, mitigate and control risk at workplace and environment. Evaluate, plan and implement appropriate occupational safety, ergonomics and occupational health program components, including development and delivery of training materials. The Senior Safety & Ergonomics Specialist will take projects requiring expert knowledge of safety, ergonomics and occupational health from identification of potential risk to the implementation of appropriate mitigation and control measures. Manages all safety, health and ergo matters at the plant. Support managing of environmental ISO14001 Certification process as requested. Drives progress of management action plans completion, providing technical support to ensure corporate, business franchise and the site goals are delivered. Assures all EHS related records and equipment is properly maintained, prepared and submitted in a timely manner. Support EHS Leader to assuring that all contracted services for Occupational Health and Wellness Services are efficiently delivered and continues improvement is maintained. Support EHS audits and inspections, recommendations and process improvements. Leads Safety & Ergonomic Associates Team and Emergency Response Team as Alternate Incident Commander. Also, will lead EHS site Champions team. Coordinates meeting and assures teams effectiveness. Support Occupational Health and Human Resources for Case Management Process to ensure proper response and recordkeeping requirements set by OSHA and J&J are met.
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineer or Sciences discipline is required. A Master's Degree is preferred. A minimum of five (5) years related experience in MD&D, Pharmaceutical and/or Consumer industry is required. Incident Commander and Radiation Officer Certifications are required. Six Sigma Certification will be preferred. Proven oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish are required. Computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel and Power Point) is required. Availability to travel ten (10%) to fifteen percent (15%) within Puerto Rico and United States as needed. Must be able to work under pressure at a fast pace supporting a 24hrs-7days operation achieving consistently high results through individual and team efforts. Needs to be able to walk constantly and perform visual safety inspections and ergonomic evaluations. Movement of objects such as lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling is required. Ability to establish positive interpersonal relations and interact with people effectively at different levels of the organization. Requires initiative, creativity and assertiveness abilities especially in communications.
