Job Title: Busbar Engineer
Overview: Amphenol Interconnect Products Corporation (AIPC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Amphenol Corporation, headquartered in Wallingford, Connecticut. AIPC employs approximately 100 people in its Endicott, New York location. Our operations have been based out of this facility since 1954. Our business is targeted at the design, development, manufacture, sales and support of a broad range of engineered cable assemblies, power distribution systems, busbars, connectors, and interconnect products serving the commercial, industrial, automotive, and military markets worldwide. We also have manufacturing operations in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Xiamen, China, Guangzhou, China, and Canada with over 600 employees.

Basic Purpose: Plans and performs engineering assignments associated with design and manufacture of busbars. Establishes design criteria and participates in design reviews. Provides analytical and design support to Manufacturing, Suppliers and Quality Assurance.
Position Specifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline, plus minimum of 5 years related experience, or comparable education and work experience. Working knowledge and application of principles and techniques commonly employed in the design and manufacture of busbars, plastic components and related products. Working knowledge of how designed solutions may be used and help in developing the qualification tests and reliability parameters. Must be familiar with the processes (laminating, stamping, plating, etc.) to manufacture busbars. Must have an understanding of sheet metal forming and stacking and tooling design. Must have a working knowledge of personal computers, SolidWorks ,CAD Software, analytical/modeling software and ERP. Must have a good understanding of Geometric Dimensioning Tolerancing per ANSI standards. Must be able to work with suppliers and communicate design concerns and parameters. Must be familiar with CSA and UL requirements. Will interface with other Engineers (Product and Manufacturing) and with customers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for the design and supplier support for all busbars, it's components, and associated hardware.
Analyze and determine cost objectives for process layouts. Complete proposals on busbar products.
Provide technical support for the development phase of new programs.
Provide technical support for Prototype projects.
Interact with Manufacturing Engineering to determine methods and tooling required for new programs. Support manufacturing with the implementation of these methods and the use of required tooling.
Provide continuous support to Manufacturing on assigned product lines.
Develop qualification test requirements for busbar products.
Travel Requirements: Some travel required both domestic and international
