Springwoods Behavioral Health is a 80 bed hospital that accommodates adolescents, adults and geriatric patients. The two story patient wing has expansive windows to take advantage of the surrounding views and provide for open and bright patient areas. The campus also features a one story building for therapy, education, dietary and administration. The six-acre campus is adjacent to a 123 acre Audubon Wildlife and Bird Sanctuary which is to be held in perpetuity and can not be developed from its natural state. The sanctuary is to be used to by the public as a regional nature and resource center along with an education building to be located on a five acre lot given by the developer next to the 123 acre preserve. This provides Springwoods with a peaceful setting for those embarked on the road to recovery. Springwoods Behavioral Health currently has a Receptionist/HR Assistant position available. The candidate selected will be responsible for the following:

Receptionist/HR Assistant

Position Purpose : The Receptionist/HR Assistant serves as the communication and information center for the hospital. This position correctly answers and routes all incoming telephone calls, takes messages, and ensures smooth functioning of the hospital switchboard and telephone communications. The Receptionist/HR Assistant cordially greets and receives hospital guests, establishes their needs and appropriately directs visitors. Responsible for performing a variety of human resource support duties. Assists in maintaining the human resource database and employee records and files. Completes assigned reporting functions. Assists the Human Resource Director with the new hire process, staff relations events, special projects and personnel filing. Assists in informing new employees of human resource policies and programs as needed. Performs general office support functions and assists personnel as necessary.

Interpersonal Relations : As a representative of Springwoods Behavioral Health and Universal Health Services, Inc, all comments, attitudes, actions, and behaviors have a direct affect on the hospital’s image and perceptions of quality service. Interaction with patients, physicians, referral sources, affiliate schools, guests, visitors, volunteer workers, co-workers, supervisors, vendors, etc. must be in a manner that is friendly, supportive, courteous, respectful, cooperative, and professional. This behavior should promote an atmosphere of teamwork, which is congruent with hospital standards and guidelines to promote positive relations. Individual must be detailed oriented, highly motivated and take initiative.

Basic Duties : Answers all incoming phone calls. Assists hospital guests and visitors. Helps oversee the human resource databases. Ensures that system records are accurately recorded and cross-checked. Enters new hire information in the human resource system database. Responsible for new hire paperwork including background checks, drug tests, license verifications and other required documents. Ensures that human resource files and records are maintained in accordance with legal requirements and company policies and procedures. Completes monthly reports. Ensures I-9 forms are completed in a timely manner and in compliance with immigration laws. Prepares job postings and list of current openings. Assists the HR Director with special projects.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 3-10 p.m.

Education/Certification : High school graduate or equivalent. Additional related training preferred.

Required Knowledge : Basic understanding of human resource functions. Knowledge of all related computer applications. Understanding of human resource reporting and record keeping requirements.

Experience Required : At least one year of related experience.

Skills/Abilities : Well organized. Accurate and attentive to detail. Excellent communications and public relations abilities. Strong typing and computer application skills. Ability to assist and support others. Skill set to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. Ability to work in behavioral health environment and observe the standards of care needed for patients. Able to operate telephone, PC, copier and other basic business machines.
