DEPARTMENT
The Department of Gerontology, in the College of Health and Pharmaceutical Sciences, School of Health Professions, at the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM), is seeking to fill a full-time, tenure-track appointment as an Assistant or Associate Professor and Program Director in Gerontology to begin Fall Semester, August 2014. The Gerontology program offers the M.A. in Program Administration and Aging Studies, a Post Baccalaureate Certificate, and a minor in gerontology. Located on beautiful Bayou Desiard, the ULM Institute of Gerontology has been in existence for over 40 years.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, collaborative, organized, and creative Gerontologist who possesses the skills and experience to direct our growing online M.A. and Post-Baccalaureate Certificate programs. In addition to administrative duties, the qualified candidate will teach courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Advancing the mission of the university, college, and program through research is expected. The chosen faculty candidate will be eligible to apply for the Endowed Professorship in Gerontology to supplement their research and teaching endeavors.

QUALIFICATIONS
Due to the multidisciplinary nature of the program, candidates with diverse backgrounds in gerontology, psychology, sociology, public health administration, or other health-related fields, with an emphasis in gerontology, are encouraged to apply. A doctorate in gerontology or a related profession with an emphasis on gerontology is required. Competence in web-based instruction is an asset. Desirable candidates will have experience in grantsmanship and possess a research agenda focusing on older adults and health.
