To direct all staffing, scheduling, quality, documentation, inventory, personnel, and training, activities within the department. As a member of the manufacturing team, participate in the budgeting, as well as make recommendations for capitol equipment. Meet or exceed goals and objectives established for the department in the strategic and financial plans. Establish a culture that effectively improves operations through the application of world class manufacturing (six sigma, lean manufacturing and 5S).
60% Direct the department to ensure effective, timely, and efficient completion of daily/ weekly manufacturing schedules. Including, producing daily work schedules, reporting, developing personnel, documenting procedures, tracking quality and delivery, capacity planning, maintaining a work force to meet capacity plan, communication with production supervisor, conducting departmental meetings, and assuring all departmental personnel are adhering to company policies and procedures.
20% Participate in the Manufacturing team, by reporting on activities and projects for the department, contributing to decisions and discussions governing the operation, creating monthly and yearly goals and objectives for the department, taking direction, contributing to the budgeting process, medium range capacity planning.
20% Lead project based teams, including WCM related projects. Use leadership skills to ensure team outputs and deadlines are met, and reported on.
The Fabrication Supervisor must have a strong manufacturing background, with a minimum of 3 years supervisory experience. Experience with CNC machining equipment or intensive manufacturing a plus. An associates degree or higher is recommended. World class manufacturing (six sigma, lean manufacturing and 5S) experience required.
The Supervisor needs to posses excellent interpersonal skills, and be an effective communicator with all levels of the organization. The incumbent must be organized, self motivated, articulate, confident, compassionate, knowledgeable, and team oriented. The supervisor needs to be an excellent decision-maker under pressure, and have the vision to lead the departmental activities into the future. Strong overall leadership skills are required Integrity, honesty and openness are expected every day from this team member.
