Durham School Services have an excellent opportunity for an experienced manager to fill the position of General Manager for our Woodland Park, CO Customer Service Center. This position reports directly to the Region Manager.
The successful candidate will provide leadership to achieve and maintain success in the areas of customer/employee relations, safety and financial performance. In addition, this candidate must possess a strong commitment to providing excellent customer service and a safety culture.
Providing effective leadership to the Customer Service Centre Team (Drivers, Dispatchers, Office Personnel, and Supervisors)
Maintaining a strong safety culture and monitoring safety processes/training
Leading the daily operations (driver, routing, and vehicle activities) necessary to ensure employee and customer satisfaction
Ensuring compliance with all applicable Company policies/procedures, local regulations, and government regulations
Establishing and achieving performance goals that are in alignment with Company objectives
Ensuring the delivery of high quality customer service and maintaining/enhancing customer relationships
Meeting regularly with school district administrators to review and enhance service quality and performance
Delivering excellent financial performance
Resolving a variety of issues and making recommendations
Ensuring continuous improvement in the areas of safety, operations, finance, etc.
Identifying growth opportunities in the local area
Position Requirements Include:
College education or equivalent experience
5 or more years of operations management experience
Experience working in the student transportation or ground transportation industry preferred
Knowledge of information technology, state of the art routing software and GPS tracking and monitoring software to effectively manage handling of routing events
Knowledge of risk assessment and management to resolve issues and make recommendations
Knowledge of local geography to relate with credibility to stakeholders in handling events
Significant experience in the routing field to handle/coordinate events and develop recommendations to facilitate standardization of responses to recurring events
Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate clearly regarding events and their resolution and to develop recommendations and prepare reports
Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service and employee relations
Strong results-oriented leadership skills with proven success in management
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and transportation related software
Knowledge of contract administration principles and practices
Budgetary/fiscal control experience
Policy administration experience
Well-developed time management skills
