Perform a variety of routine tasks. Prepares and cooks a limited number of hot food items for patients, provides catering and cafeteria meal service and serves portions of hot food on patient tray assembly lines. A Second Cook must have more overall skill and the highest level outcomes with minimal supervision. High School diploma or GED required.Knowledge and skills to perform the required cooking methods (such as baking, broiling, roasting, steaming, and frying) equivalent to two years experience of institutional cooking.Ability to operate any equipment used in food preparation.Is Serv-Safe or comparably certified in HACCP processes.Must be able to disassemble and reassemble all kitchen equipment to be cleaned.Competency in basic literacy skills: reading, oral and written communication skills, and basic math skills.Four years of experience in hospital food service preferred.
