The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission Prince George's County Department of Parks and Recreation, is seeking an Aquatics Senior Pool Manager. This is a seasonal/intermittent position to assist career facility management with the supervision, management, programming and operation of seasonal outdoor aquatics facilities, located throughout Prince George's County.
Senior Pool Manager reports to a Facility Manager or designee and supervises Pool Managers, Assistant Pool Managers, Swim Lesson Coordinators, Lifeguards, and Customer Service Representatives.
Examples of Important Duties:
Operates and supervises pools and water features meeting State regulations.
Provides direct supervision of part-time staff including the recruitment, training, scheduling and coordination of personnel.
Prepares and reviews administrative records and reports and makes daily bank deposits.
Coordinates facility and pool usage with groups and rentals.
Prepares fiscal reports, purchasing and salary administration.
Coordinates the operation of the swim lesson and water safety programs with the Swim Lesson Coordinator.
Supervises and performs routine cleaning of pools, bathrooms and related areas.
Coordinates maintenance requests.
Acquires and maintains adequate stock of chemicals and supplies necessary to maintain cleanliness of water and pool areas.
Collects or ensures proper collection of fees; maintains all reports related to fees, attendance and water quality as required by the Commission.
Enforces all rules and regulations as they relate to pool safety.
Oversees the daily opening and closing of the facility.
Performs lifeguard duties as needed.
Attends weekly training sessions.
Performs related work as required.
High school diploma or GED equivalent; or current enrollment as a high school student. (Any acceptable combination of education, training and experience that provides the above knowledges, abilities and skills may be substituted on a full time year-for-year basis.)
Five years experience in public swimming pool operations and management.
Three years experience training, scheduling and supervising aquatic staff.
Current Maryland Pool Operator's card, current American Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR/AED certification. Water Safety Instructor, Lifeguard Instructor, and Instructor Trainer Certifications are preferred. Must have the ability to obtain Prince George's Pool Operators License within 1 month of employment.
Must be age 18 or have a work permit.
